First of all.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JULEE!!! I hope you have a fantastic day!
The image at the top of the post was created by Jen Tapler... isn't it marvelous?
I cannot even begin to tell you how excited and honored I am to be a part of this hop. So much talent in one morning... whew... I am in awe! And, to be a part of it... priceless! I hope you're enjoying your hop today... if you've come from Teresa's blog you are right on track. If you've just stumbled on this blog, please enjoy, and if you'd like to start the hop from the beginning, go on over to Amber's blog for the master list.
When I was creating this card, I knew I wanted to use Julee's favorite Verve colors... browns and aquas. I chose a vanilla card base and paper from Linen Closet (DCWV). The entire packet is in soft brown, caramel and aqua colors. I used my Spellbinders nestabilities labels 1 and cut out and embossed aqua mist (PTI) cardstock. Then I used my oval nesties to cut out the sentiment layer and sponged it with Ranger Antique Linen while the paper was still in the die. A little trick I learned from Julee (as a matter of fact *grin*). The "Big Wish" sentiment is Verve's Big Wish Birthday set and I stamped it using close to cocoa ink by SU!. The horizontal border is done with a new Martha Stewart punch 'quilting' and the pretty antique lace vertical border is from Ellen Hutson. Once all the basics were done, I got to play with my little faux button. I used a sizzix die cut and cut both papers so I could insert the little aqua button onto the polka dotted one. Finished it all up with floss, a satin bow, some 1/2 pearls from an SU! 'pretties' kit and it was good to go. I wanted to finish the inside too with this Happy Birthday stamp from Verve. This has been so much fun! I hope you enjoyed your visit and now you are to hop over to Laurie's blog where I know her creation will stop you in your tracks... her creations are so fabulous!!!
Happy Birthday Julee ... you deserve the best day ever!!!
{{hugs}}
Patty
