Lotus blossom

Hi Friends

I've finally uploaded my pictures of my January crazy card club card.  We have themes that are loosely followed ;-) and this time it was to do a monochromatic card.  I chose blue but when I stamped the Lotus blossom on the cardstock I wasn't thrilled with the result.  So, out came the whisper white and I liked it much better.  There are 3 lotus 'steps' in the set but, after experimenting with various inks, I decided I liked the look of just the #1 and #2 stamps to create my flower.  Yes, Stampin' Up does put the numbers in the set for you to follow.

If you look closely at the three samples in this picture, the ribbon treatment is different in each one.  I struggled to choose the best option without using a button.  I try to create cards each month that are "mail friendly" because I like to know they've arrived intact.  Here are two ideas I had...

That's a paper button - card stock from a punch

not a very good bow, but this one was considered.

My only 'bulkies' were these little pearls that I colored with blendabilities ... don't try this with markers unless you enjoy having colorful fingers... it won't stay on.  But with the alcohol markers (blendabilities or Copics) it works great to color coordinate your pearls and rhinestones.

Here is the one I went with... just a simple knot with the bakers twine.

Hope you like it....

Lotus Blossom

Hi Everyone

Today I want to show you one of the neat stamp sets that are available for FREE.... um, huh?... yes, FREE when you make any purchase totaling $50.  That includes items from the Annual Catty, the new Occasions catty, and the clearance rack too.  Here is the first freebie that I chose from the sale a bration catalog.  It is called Lotus Blossom and I can't wait to play with it.  I haven't had a chance yet but it's a 3 step set which really looks like you can get super creative.

Here are some from fellow demonstrators...

Isn't this a great little set.  The sentiments (shown immediately above) are part of the set too.  Ok, I hope this post has sparked your interest.  It's a pretty (free) set to consider.

Thanks for visiting
