Pastel Flower Patch

Hi Stampers...

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while ... been busy deep cleaning the house now that the painting job is done and the windows are just freshly washed ... guess I could see the grunge better =) ... and also trying to stay cool while we were in the midst of the most recent heat wave (ugh).  Those are not compatible, let me tell you.

So, let's make a card.  It will last longer and be more fun.  I visited one of my favorite challenges this morning (the Color Throwdown) and Wanda Cullen has chosen all my favorite colors ... pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe, and coastal cabana... how could I not play???  I immediately thought of my new Flower Patch set with matching framelits from Stampin' Up so that's what I went with.  I also needed a sketch as a taking off point so I went to see what Julee Tilman (Mojo Monday) had created this week.  Loved the sketch so here it all is....

I ended up making two cards since I had some spare parts when this one was done... I added another flower and leaf to the upper right.  Now I'm not sure which I like better ... ?

What I used....

Flower Patch clear polymer stamp set
sentiment from Peaceful Petals
Flower Patch framelits
pearls, score tape,  glue dots
inks - coastal cabana, crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding,
old olive, bermuda bay to accent
coastal cabana, whisper white card stock
Sweet Sorbet DSP

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look

To Grandma's House

Hi Friends

Long time no see?  Well, we're getting a face lift for our house, trim, patio overhang, new gutters ... all that happy stuff... and it's kept me pretty busy.  I'll have pictures once it's all done.

But, meanwhile, I did get the chance to work on this little card which is going to be entered in three challenges this week.

Merry Monday "Have a package on your card"

Mojo Monday The Sketch

And  the Friday Mashup
"Have an animal on your project"

Here is my card

The cute little boy image is from a Penny Johnson design and he originally had a baseball hat on (backwards) but since I was making him into Christmas, I drew this little Santa hat on scrap paper, colored it, and stuck it on his head.  The paper is from Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey), I colored with copics, and I also used three little candy dots (brights collection - SU) and that's about it.

Have a great day and thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Merry Mojo

Hi Friends

Yesterday I made this card for Merry Monday using Julee's sketch from Mojo Monday... so it is being entered into both challenges.  For Merry Monday (click Here to see other samples) we were asked to do a card using the colors of gold, silver, and black... so very elegant ... but this was a bit of a challenge for me.

And here is Julee's wonderful sketch.  Click Here to visit Verve's Mojo Monday.

And, here is what I came up with....

I kept my design pretty true to the sketch.  I had all sorts of paper combinations, images, dies, punches (you name it) all over my desk but, in the end, I wound up using gold and silver foil paper with basic black and my new Flower Fair framelits... these are the framelits that "normally" go with the new Flower Patch stamp set... who knew?  Another use for the framelits... yay.  I cut double layers of the flower and popped it all up with dimensionals. I also ran the silver paper through the Big Shot using my snowflake embossing folder.  The ribbon is from my stash and the little sentiment is from Verve's Ornamental Christmas.

I hope you like my card ... I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out but, honestly, I wasn't too sure as it 'morphed' through its stages.

Tomorrow I'm off to my friend Gail's for a stamp-a-stack.  I'll be back Monday with pictures!!!

Thanks for taking a look...
