Holidays SAS

Hi Friends

It's starting to seem more and more like the holidays.  Even here in toasty southern California we've had some rain and cooler temperatures... yay!!  Last Saturday I went to my friends SAS where we made cards for the upcoming holidays...

I love this cute Halloween card.  It uses the new woodland embossing folder and the super cute spider web doilies.  They are already cut out for you... so easy!

For this card we used the new stamp set 'Thankful Forest Friends',  the big tree from 'Lovely as a Tree' and the sentiment is from 'For all Things'.

Isn't this pretty?  It uses the new 'Lighthearted Leaves' and the coordinating Leaflets framelits... makes this card so fun and easy

We used some of this darling dsp 'Home for Christmas' and 'Cup of Cheer'.  We also got to play with the new fine tipped glue pen and some dazzling diamonds.  It sparkles!!

This is another new stamp set 'All ye Faithful' which we stamped with silver ink and then heat set with silver embossing powder.  A lovely card.

Love the new 'Embellished Ornaments' bundled with the Delicate Ornament thinlits dies.  All topped off with the bow punch and a sparkly platinum ribbon.

This adorable card uses the new 'Sleigh Ride Edgelits dies'.  These are very delicate and a little tricky but if you use the dryer sheet it is a snap.  Do you remember the sandwich I talked about in an earlier post?  Here it is again.

Starting from the bottom.... magnetic plate, clear plate, dryer sheet, card stock, waxed paper, thinlit or edgelit, and your top clear plate.  It works beautifully!

That's it from me today... stay tuned as more and more holiday cards will be featured.  I'm working on my crazy card for October... which is a pretty cute Christmas card... think hedgehogs!

See you soon... thanks for the visit

Day 10 Halloween Countdown

Hi Everybody...

Today is our grand finale of the 10 day Halloween countdown ... can I have a drum roll, please?  I just have to say, while I have enjoyed making all the cards, this one is my very favorite.

Do you love this little hedgehog?  He's all dressed up as Count Dracula ... his name is Count Hedgula (heehee) and he is made by Penny Black.  I adore him!  There's a lot going on with this card so lets get to it.  The papers used on this card are basic black, tangerine tango, and whisper white from Stampin' Up!  The whisper white layer is embossed with the stripes embossing folder and then sponged lightly with smoky slate. The dsp is Basic Grey and the pens used are Copics.  The wonderful spider web punch is by Martha Stewart.

I stamped the hedgie on whisper white and then colored him with my Copics.  I cut out the liitle bucket of candy as well as the bat and popped them up with dimensionals.  I colored the candy with Copics and then added some clear sparkle Stickles.  The bright green satin ribbon is from my stash and picks up some of the colors of the designer paper.

I hope you like him as much as I do.  I also hope you've enjoyed our Halloween countdown and are ready to make some cards for friends and family.  I'm about to get out my envelopes and start addressing so I can send these cards out in time for Halloween.  I'm not sure I'm going to part with Count Hedgula, however =^..^=.  I may just have to keep him for myself :-).

Next week let's do some more fall cards, okay?  See you then and thanks for dropping by!

Day 9 Halloween Countdown

Hi there...

This little bewitching cutie is from last year's catalog ... sorry about that... but any little witch will do, right?  As for sentiments, you can make it current with the Tee-Hee-Hee stamp set... shown below. I love the sentiments in that set.

Day 8 Halloween countdown

Hi Friends

Today is all about the 'guys' that you send cards to.  You know, the boys that used to like the cutesy cards and now groan?  Here's the solution ... these two cards are simple but still get the greeting across and show that Halloween doesn't have to be all about little kids.

This stamp set is from last year's 'Toil and Trouble' ... I rarely sell my stamp sets, even if they are 'retired'.  But the point of this countdown is to give you ideas for cards ... for all generations.

I hope you've enjoyed the ideas so far ... come back tomorrow for a 'bewitching' time ;-p

Day 7 Halloween Countdown

Hi stampers

Happy hump day, everyone!  It's the little ghost again... but this time he is done in whisper white.  I love all the layers on this card ... I think it makes it more interesting, don't you?  The base of the card is tangerine tango with basic grey, black, and smoky slate as the dominant colors.  The Fun Fall framelits were used for the ghost and the little pumpkin and the sentiment is from the new set "Ghoulish Greetings".

Building the card ... base is tangerine tango (I already said that, right? :-)), then you want a layer of the dsp 'confetti celebration', a smoky slate layer with a piece of basic grey embossed with the chevron embossing folder, a basic black star from the framelits collection, your sentiment, the ghost and the pumpkin, stamped in tangerine tango.  A band of smoky slate chevron ribbon and a little gold button with basic black 1/8" ribbon finishes the look.  Like it?  I do, and hope you do too.  Tomorrow we'll have two cards that are perfect for the guys and then my very favorite 'count hedgula' will round out the week.

See you tomorrow... thanks for dropping by

Day 5 Halloween Countdown

Hi friends

I hope you had a nice weekend.  I guess today is a holiday for some of you as it is Columbus Day here in the states.  I have a date with some friends to play mahjong so I'd better make this post a bit brief.  I  did work on my crazy cards over the weekend and can't wait to show you!  I love it... maybe I'll interrupt the Halloween countdown and turn it into a fall fest countdown... maybe?  It's Fall-related but not Halloween.  Ok, later this week.

Let me wish my Canadian friends a very Happy Thanksgiving!!! I hope your tables were loaded with all of Autumn's bounty!!!

Well, here we go with our Halloween countdown...

I really like this one.  It's actually more narrow than the standard A2 card that we are used to.  The points of the flagged turquoise piece measure 4 1/4 and it's length is 5 1/2 so it winds up fitting in an A2 envelope just fine.  I like the dimension on this one.

Well, I must dash... I think I'll start throwing in some Autumn cards this week too!  As always, thanks so much for the visit and have a super Monday!

Day 4 Halloween Countdown

Hi Friends

Here we are at day 4 of the Halloween countdown and this card is one of my favorites.  I love this sentiment! The inside of the card (not shown) has white cs and I stamped a few brooms on it.  These items are all in the Holiday mini and available now.

This fun little card uses the Tee Hee stamp set and the Motley Crew dsp that I showed you in yesterday's blog.  If you missed it, scroll down for a picture of the papers.

Thanks for taking some time out of your day to stop by and tune in next week for more of the Halloween countdown... it's "creeping" closer to that day!!!

Day 3 Halloween

Hi there

Or should I say "Boo"?  Today, continuing with our 10 days of Halloween I have another cutie to share with you.  If you scroll below you will see a picture of the entire set.  Hmmm, getting ideas... wouldn't it be neat to just have a few cat images peeking out of a frame and then add a bunch of eyes in green and yellow?  Well, maybe I'll try that out.

There are so many variations you can achieve with this fun stamp set.

Day 2 Halloween Countdown

Hi Friends

Are you starting to get into the holiday mood?  I am but I'm still waiting for some crisp weather to signal Fall.  No, I'm not holding my breath :-).  We have such gorgeous weather here in the northern San Diego area the majority of the year, so I really shouldn't complain. This October heat is nothing new... when our girls were little we'd plan their costumes for weeks.  It was most often little pink tutus or some other girly thing... especially since, at the time, it was 90+ outside.  Then the 31st arrives and guess what?  It would be 40 degrees that night.  So out would come the big jackets and warm leggings which sort of killed the ballerina look. Oh well, it's all about the candy!!  Candy?  Yes, please!

Let's keep going on our Halloween cards.  Here's card #2 for you... again using glimmer paper and the framelits from the holiday mini....  Enjoy!!

Thanks for coming by... there will be another card tomorrow as the countdown continues!

Day 1 halloween countdown

Hi Friends...

Today I thought I'd start a Halloween Countdown by presenting 10 days of Halloween cards and decorations.  Sound good?  We will be finished well before Halloween which gives you plenty of time to copy and use some of the posts... please, feel free to copy, it's the highest form of flattery!   I'm not into the gory, horror, or scary stuff  but if you like cute, happy cards and treat boxes for candy, then you're in the right place.  Candy?  Yes, please!

Ok, let's get going.  The following four posts are from a door prize that I won at my upline, Pam's,  SAS last month. I can't take credit for making or creating them but I can sure feel good about sharing them :-).   Soooo cute.  When I first saw the framelits in the holiday mini I wasn't too sure how they would be used. But...cutting the ghost out of glimmer paper and adding a few pumpkins on halloween DSP makes a super cute card.
