Simply Sent Kits

I can't believe we're about to say goodbye to the month of June - already?  Well, the good news is that July  will be a fun month for me.  Next thursday (yep, the fourth of July) my husband and I are going on a vacation to western Canada visiting Vancouver and Victoria and then travelling by train to Banff National Park in Alberta where we'll stay in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff Springs - then on to Calgary for the Stampede.  Yahoo! {I think that's the cheer - not yeehaw :-)}.  I'll only be back home for two days - just long enough to get some laundry done - and then it's off to Salt Lake City for Stampin' Up! convention.  Lots of fun in the next few weeks.

I wanted to share this card from a kit that I received from the last sale-a-bration catalog.  It was a 'Simply Sent' kit that I altered a bit from an example I saw on Pinterest. I just looked through my boards and can not find that sample - if anyone recognizes it, please let me know so I can give proper credit.

Sometimes it's nice to be able to sit down and make cards without having to brainstorm or file through stacks of paper to get it done, kwim?  That's the beauty of a kit.

Here's a new kit that's available right now.  It is called Fancy Friends Kit - I've included a video showing samples of cards using this kit.  It's really nice to have everything you need right at your fingertips!

Enjoy!!!

Holiday Treat Holder

Cute treat holder for holidays

Isn't this just the cutest basket of nuggets?  Catherine Cote' created this a couple of years ago and I stumbled over it while looking for something else on her blog.  I'm planning a holiday stamp a stack and this might go on the 'menu'.

CeeCee has graciously shared the step by step instructions which follow.

Convention Swaps

Oh, Hello friend...

I'm getting so excited to go to my first Convention!  I have no idea what to expect but I have been looking around Stampin' Ups! website so I'm getting the general idea.  It looks like great fun... and this year being the 25th anniversary it should really be special.

This card front is one of my swaps... I ended up with about 50 before I ran out of gas.  I hope the people I trade with will like it.  It uses Afternoon Tea designer series paper, honeycomb embossing folder, open scallop edge punch, 1/2 doily, Oh Hello stamp set, white seam binding ribbon with a bit of lace ribbon, and teeny tiny labels - the sentiment says "friend to friend" but you can't see that clearly.  My colors are wisteria wonder and pear pizzazz.

This will probably be the last post until after convention since my husband and I will be taking a trip the beginning of July to western Canada and won't return until just a few days before I leave for Salt Lake City... nothing like cutting it close!  But, it's all fun and I'll be back posting stuff from convention the end of July.

See you then!  Thanks for visiting,
Pat

Secret Garden

Casing Vicki

I fell in love with this card by Vicki Burdick.  The colors are wonderful and I like the layout too.  Her cards are beautiful.

This flower is from the Stampin Up "Secret Garden"set. She stamped the flowers with Bashful Blue ink and then sponged the edges with Midnight Muse.  I love the effect!
The leaves are stamped with Crumb Cake.
The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up! Petite Pairs stamp set.

She added some bashful blue satin ribbon - I hope Stampin' Up! brings this satin ribbon back for those of us who loved it!!!
The DSP is from the Prints Poetry pack. She added some pretty detail with the basic pearls pack and I see she also used the dots embossing folder.

I love the overall soft mood of this card - definitely gong to case this one (while giving proper credit to Vicki, of course).

Hope you've enjoyed seeing what other Stampin' Up! demonstrators are up to.

Be back soon - you too?

Field Flowers

More Field Flowers

I (obviously) like this set a lot - it's fun to see what happens with different color combinations.  With this card I used the new crisp cantaloupe for the first inking and primrose petals for the details - double stamp provides lovely shadings.  I used my fancy fan embossing folder on whisper white and layered that on primrose petals cs.  the ribbon is Stampin' Up! from the 2013 in-colors (primrose petals again).  The green layer around the flower panel is pear pizzazz as are the stems.  i used the itty bitty banners 'thank you' for the sentiment.  There you have the 'basic recipe'... try it!

I hope you've enjoyed this rather simple little card.  It was fun to make.  I don't even mind cutting out the flowers... i just do it when i'm watching (make that listening) to tv at night.

I'll have another card tomorrow.... hope you come back soon.

Mosaic Madness

Mosaic Madness

New set from Stampin' Up!  Love it.  I bought the bundle which includes the stamp set and the punch.  Really makes it a fun operation when you can stamp off a bunch of the stamps and then punch them out - no fussy cuts to worry about!  You can find them in the new 2013 - 2014 catalog starting on page 121.  Have fun with this set -  I'll place the order for you!

I used all new "IN COLORS" - crisp cantaloupe, pistachio pudding, coastal cabana, and strawberry slush.  The other color (which I didn't use on this card) is baked brown sugar (it is a beautiful soft honey brown).  I love all the new colors.  The ribbon is not available in the catalog - I used some of my 'groovy guava' from years ago - it's a good match with the cantaloupe.  I also used my new embossing folder "modern mosaic".  The punched images fit perfectly!!!

Thanks for the visit - leave me comments if you like - I'd love to hear from you.  Enjoy your weekend...
 Hugs,
Pat

Box card Swaps

Box card

Last weekend we had a blast at a Stampin' Up! Demonstrators' meeting and swap.  Of course, we also enjoyed a yummy lunch!  I decided to make these box cards to swap and I think they liked them.

Winner winner... chicken dinner?  Nope, got the chicken dinner but didn't win *pout*.  There were some awesome cards and projects there - it was a fun day.

I found the recipe for this box card on Splitcoast Stampers with a great tutorial by Beate Johns ... thanks so much for publishing the 'how to' video for those of us needing visual help...

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/boxcard/

I was excited to get started using the new "gingham garden" designer series paper - so cute.  I also used my new stamp set "kind and cosy" from the 2014 catalog.

I hope you enjoy looking at these... make some yourself?  They fit in a regular A2 envelope and collapse flat for mailing - not too bulky either - normal postage - love that!!!

Want to get these items from Stampin' Up?  Send me an email and I'll get it started for you!

Hugs,
Pat
