New In-colors

Hi Friends

Today I'd like to share a quick post.  I know several people have commented that the new Stampin' Up In Colors for 2015 - 2017 are very similar to what we already have.  I want to thank Carol Dunstan of Inkantations and Inkarnations for preparing this dandy little chart.  Thanks Carol!!!

I already have two favorites.... mint macaron and watermelon wonder.**** Just a little 'aside'... I sure wish they'd bring sage shadow back!!!  Thinking mint macaron is quite close.  Goody.

Of course, all monitors are different but I think this gives you a good overview as to how the colors compare.

That's it for today - see, I told you it was a quick post.

And now on to the next chapter

Hi Friends

Yay... it's graduation time for so many.  A time of satisfaction for all they've accomplished and a time of excitement for what the future may hold.  But, first and foremost, it's a time to CELEBRATE.   I wanted to share this card - well, I actually made two - so far.  I saw this image on Pinterest but the pinner had not provided the name of the stamp.  I'm a big Penny Black fan so I recognized it right away but had to have Mr. Google ferret it out for me. It's Penny Black "The scholar". I just got it the other day and I just love this little hedgie throwing his cap in the air.

I kept the card simple since the recipients are male ... except I had to add the bow!  Hedgie is stamped with Memento tuxedo black and colored with copics.  I see now that the sentiment is a bit "wonky" but I think it's ok since it sort of mirrors the action.  Here they are side by side...

and, as usual, my assistant needed to approve them.

Simple little cards but I think they are cute.  Hope you do too!

Thanks for spending some time here today...

Short Stacks CCC May

                                                         Enjoy Life Sip by Sip

Hi Friends

Finally!  Yep, I finally finished my crazy card club submission for May.  I don't know why it took me so long except that I was enjoying the process so I took my time.  It all started toward the end of April when I saw some of Marcella Hawley's designs on Pinterest.  She was one of my favorite designers with the Flourishes line... remember them?  Well, she now has her own company called Power Poppy and it is heaven to browse all the wonderful designs and samples.  I had fully intended to do a card which featured her daffodils but when I saw "Short Stacks" I was smitten.

I think this is one of the cutest images I've seen in a long time and knew I had to make it.  I love Spellbinders too and this wonderful set is the A2 Devine Eloquence.  After stamping the image on whisper white using Memento tuxedo black, I selected my Copics and just had fun with it.  I only did a few each evening while watching TV which is probably why it took so long.

I also decided the little bird needed to be popped up so I stamped him off a second time on some scraps from the die cutting, colored him up, cut him out, and popped him up over the other.

Of course, if you've read this blog before, you know I can't do these things by myself...right?  I always have my helper (Bailey Mc Puss) close by...

The crazies will get the pale blue cards, I needed to make some for myself too so I experimented with the die to see how other color combinations looked.  I also played around with bow, or no bow, and finally decided the bow wasn't necessary.  Hope I was right???

The inside reads "enjoy life sip by sip"... love it!  Kind of a funny "aside".  Our crazy card club has a suggested theme for each month and I thought this month said "your choice".  Well, today when I was addressing the envelopes, I noticed it said 'thank you'.  Next month is 'your choice'... should I do a thank you?  LOL    We shall see.................  stay tuned.

Thanks for coming by to take a look

Grid Background Die

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're having a great week so far.  I think everybody enjoys springtime and this card today has some of my favorite elements on it.  I adore daisies, and trellis designs, and blue, and yellow... with white, of course, and...and...and.

So, I hope you enjoy this card.  I got the die cut from my favorite stamping store here in the area and it has so much potential.  I snipped it in half for the background on this card ... and then added my die cut daisies and the leaf flourish.

I wanted to be able to tell you the manufacturer and details about this lattice die but I've discarded the wrapper since I keep my dies in a scrapbook with magnetic sheets.  I'll try to find out the details and edit the blog when I have the information... sorry.  The edge die is from Spellbinders A2 Borderabilities, the daisies are by My Favorite Thing, and the leaf flourish is Spellbinders Floral Flourishes.  I've used my SU cardstock... midnight muse, daffodil delight, garden green and whisper white.  The little centers were run through the big shot using the dotted swiss embossing folder and then punched out.

This was a contender for my crazy card club too... but it got a little labor intensive... and, when you need to make 15, well, you can figure the rest.

Thanks for stopping by... stay tuned for the CCC (crazy card club) winner!!!

Indescribable X two

Hi Friends

Today I'd like to share two more of Stampin' Up's wonderful stamp set "Indescribable Gift".  I've had a lot of fun with this set.  Actually, any time I can play with my Copics I'm a happy girl.  I also wanted to play around with my new Spellbinders A2 borderabilities.  I hope you like the combination.

Then I decided to try some of my dsp (yes, I have quite a stash *wink*) and this was what I came up with....

These were both 'play around' cards that I thought might be my crazy card club submissions for May but then I saw something else on the 'net... and fell in love.  That's just a teaser... they are still a work in process... but, stay tuned, I think they're really cute and will have them up on the blog soon.  Tomorrow I have another 'play around' card that I made using another new die cut ... well, you'll just have to come back....

Thanks for the visit
