Girlfriend Birthday

Happy Monday Everyone!

You don't like Mondays?  Well, I have a card that might bring a smile to your face.  It's for a friend who is having a birthday soon and I know she'll get a kick out of it.

Here we go...  The stamp set is from Art Impressions and (I think) it's called 'Beach Babes'.  I'm not sure since I threw away the packaging but I know you could find it easily.  I wish I could take credit for the clever verse but I saw it on Pinterest.  Obviously these gals have some hearing loss.... heehee.... or maybe it's that wind.  =^..^=

Anyway, I had a blast coloring this with my Copics ... it makes me smile.

Thanks for the visit today... come back soon... I'll have lots more this week.

Amazing Birthday

Hi Friends

Today was amazing.  I met my friend Jane and we went to "The Making Place" in Escondido, CA. What an awesome shoppe.  (Notice the spelling?  This extraordinary place is not just a shop).  It seems every square inch is decorated with vintage goodies, very shabby chic, with stamping supplies tucked into baskets and cubby holes... eye candy to the max!  If you are ever in the area, you really must go there!  You can also see snippets of the store pictured on their website by clicking here.

Meanwhile, let's get to another card we made at Pam's last weekend.  This birthday card uses the "Amazing birthday" set found in the Occasions catalog.  We stamped it off twice and layered the red elements with pop ups.  I really like the colors and layers on this card.

Thanks for visiting today... come back soon

Butterfly Basics

Hi Stampers

Today I want to share a birthday card with you.  It's from the new set "Butterfly Basics" found in the Occasions catalog.  The stamp set is bundled with the Butterfly Thinlets - buy the bundle and get a 15% discount... yippee!  The thinlets have been delayed due to overseas shipping problems, but my understanding is that they will soon be available for immediate shipping.

This card uses both the stamp set and the thinlets to create this birthday card.  Change the paper a bit and you could easily have a sympathy, engagement, anniversary, or just a nice "thinking of you".

This is one of my favorite new sets ... I hope you like it too!

Thanks for stopping by... see you soon

From the Herd

Hi Friends

Today I want to share a card that I started this weekend at my friend Pam's SAS.  There's a story here... basically, I messed up!!!  Somehow I became dyslexic when I was applying the wood grain to the edge of the card and I managed to put it on the wrong flap.  The circle "flip flop" was supposed to be toward the top not toward the bottom.  Ok, fixed that by just refolding and making the circle flip toward the bottom.  Then I stamped the image on some whisper white and punched it out only to find out there was the llama's neck without a head.  Looked weird.  So I stamped it again on some scrap and decided to work on it at home where I could color with my copics.  I think it all turned out for the best since now I had the space to fussy cut the rest of the llama and add him to the image.  I also cut out an extra piggy and popped him up with dimensionals.  Here is the result....

Do you like these little critters?  It was funny at the party ... no one at our table liked these guys so I kept kind of silent since I DID like them and could see lots of cute possibilities.  Here's what the entire set looks like.  I don't own it yet, but I am definitely going to order it next time.  Just look at all the cute accessories and sentiments that are included.

Here's a closeup of my 'pals'

And here's the inside.  I'm pretty pleased with this little card.  It would make my smile if I received it... and that's the whole point, right?

I'll have more cards from our SAS soon... so check back often.

Thanks so much for stopping by

Weekly Deals

Hi Stampers

I've had some questions regarding the Weekly Deals and how long Stampin' Up plans to continue this offer.  As far as I know, there is no end in sight.  I think SU intends to keep offering weekly deals as long as you, the customers, are interested.  This week is an especially good one, IMHO.  I have the artisan punch and the label love stamp set and I love that combo. I use the petite petals punch quite a bit too... punch a few out, curl the petal edges, add it to your sentiment label, pop in a baby pearl and you're good to go.

Don't miss these good deals this week.  And remember Sale a Bration lasts until April 1 but that's just a week away... don't miss out on that either :-)

Thank You (case)

Hi Stampers

Today I want to share a card I just made a few minutes ago.  As I've told you, I belong to a group of talented (them, not me) stampers called the "Crazy Card Club" or "crazies" as I like to call them. Each month we all send a card to everyone in the group and they are fabulous!!  They are meant for us to use as we see fit, but I rarely use them... they are too wonderful to part with.  That's where C.A.S.E. comes in.  C.A.S.E. stands for Copy and Share Everything and is the ultimate compliment.

Today's card is going to some good friends and was cased from my "crazy" friend Laura. Her cards are always spectacular, and this one really caught my eye.

Here's Laura's

And here's mine

I didn't have the proper ribbon to copy her ribbon band so I used my crisp cantaloupe ruffled ribbon.  I kind of think I like hers better... but I'm my own worst critic!  I used three patterns from a Basic Grey pack called Kioshi on a crisp cantaloupe card base. I don't even want to discuss how many of these little 6 x 6 packs I have in my stash.  The sentiment is from another favorite "perfectly penned" which is retired.

I hope you've enjoyed this card.  I'm still working on the last of my cards from Sherry's class and hope to get to them later today.

More posts coming soon... thanks for visiting

Sale a Bration and Weekly Deals

Hi Stampers...

Here is some news from Stampin' Up!

"Since Blendabilities are no longer available as a Sale-A-Bration redemption item, we anticipate that the demand on other Sale-A-Bration items will be higher than forecasted. For that reason, all Sale-A-Bration items (with the exception of stamps) will be available "while supplies last." To help alleviate any inconvenience this may cause, we've made more items available to redeem for free during these last few weeks of Sale-A-Bration."

And here are your weekly deals

Corner Garden

Hi Stampers

Today I want to share my crazy card club entry for March.  There was no theme as it was "your choice" so I decided to fulfill my passion for coloring and make an all purpose card suitable for any occasion.  I chose the background stamp "Corner Garden" and had a blast coloring it.  Here's what we came up with...

Did you notice I said "we"?  I'm sure you already knew I was referring to my assistant, Bailey!
We sometimes work under trying circumstances, right?  I have learned to color with just a tiny bit of room....

Oh, yes, he knows exactly where to place his furry little body!

Then, of course, we have to consider "quality control" as part of the process....

Here's the final "sweep"

We are now finished and they are ready for their envelopes.

"Our process"... after stamping them off on 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 pieces of whisper white, I colored them all and then trimmed to 4 x 5 1/4 so I could keep it simple and just pop it up on the white card with dimensionals.  The sentiment "Thinking of you" is from one of my all time favorite sets "Sincere Salutations" which has, unfortunately, been retired.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing "our" work... come back soon!

Relax Dad

Hi Everyone

I hope you've been enjoying this weeks' cards.  Today I have another little cutie bear to share.  I'll be giving this one to my hubby on Father's Day.

The stamp is from Crafter's Companion and is called "Relax".  He is colored with Copics and the newspaper was stamped twice, cut out, and popped up on the card.  I need to take better photos so some of these details show up... it's obvious in real life, though, and adds some nice dimension.

There are still two more cards that we did at Sherry's but I still need to finish them.  I hope to have them up on the blog next week.

Enjoy your weekend and come back soon.
