Today I always look at the Friday Mashup to see what they've come up with this week. This challenge is for the "end of summer" and they showed slices of watermelon using the colors of Melon Mambo, Wild Wasabi, Black and White... or use a wood element... or both. **note**... I guess it may be the end of summer in the eastern states but certainly not here in SoCal. We're expecting a warm up with the chance of monsoonal thunderstorms each day for the next week. That says humidity to me, folks. I'm not a fan of humid weather - or heat either, for that matter.
Well, on to the card. Check out their illustration and samples Here to go over to the Friday Mashup. I chose to mash it up by using the challenge colors and a wood element. The bottom panel of my card is the wood dsp from SU and I ran it through the big shot using the woodgrain embossing folder. Here 'tis....
This yummy image is by Flourishes and I colored it with my copics getting as close to the target colors as possible. After coloring it (on whisper white) I cut it out using my Labels 8 nestabilities. Then I cut another Labels 8 in wild wasabi to set it off a bit. What do you think of the ribbon? I've had it in my stash for a long time. When I saw this at Michael's (years ago) I knew I needed to have it but it's never been just right for my cards. I love it on this one ... those are some ginormous ants!!!
Bailey saw me taking pictures of this card and, wanting attention, decided to plop on it. Ha Ha, I had already taken the card pictures but couldn't resist taking this pic of my funny baby!!!
Well, that's it for today - I hope you like the card - and my #1 assistant =^..^=
Thanks for stopping by
