Envelope Punch Board

                                     Envelope Punch Board favor boxes

In my last post I featured our "big winner" box with bow prizes for the Bunco Babes and today I'll show you how to make these cute little mini boxes using the Envelope Punch Board and some decorations of your choice.  Here's the finished product...

I used a small piece of florists cello and tucked two chocolate hearts in each one - yum,

Here's how to make the little box....

Start with a piece of double sided designer series paper cut at 6" x 6".  Using your Envelope Punch Board, punch and score at 1 3/4,  3 1/8,  and 4 1/2.
Do this on all four sides.  Here's what it should look like.

You'll notice one "pointy end" is larger than the one next to it.  Next you're going to cut off the 2 smaller "pointy ends"... like this

Now orient the paper the way my scissors are pointing and cut along the score lines as shown below.  At this point you should also be pre-folding your score lines

You're going to cut off the "curvy" pieces to get the following shape...

Are you starting to see the little container taking shape?  No?  Well, hang in there, it will become pretty obvious very soon.  Note*** while you weren't looking (*wink*) I rounded the "pointy ends" with the corner rounder which is part of the Envelope Punch Board.  Handy little tool.  Ok, now flip your paper over and put adhesive on those little flaps and turn in and adhere... like this.

NOW you can see it, right?

There you go.  It's easy and fun and I think it makes a really cute little container for (whatever).
I used the 1/2" round punch, heart punch, word window punch, teeny tiny wishes and the little heart is from the Owl Builder punch.  Using your cropodile (or 1/4" punch) to punch through both layers on both sides and draw your ribbon through and tie in a bow - this closes the box.

Have fun making these - bet they'd be cute holding a Cadbury Easter egg too - but I'm getting ahead of myself.

Hope you've enjoyed this little tutorial - I love reading your comments (if you'd like to leave one - hint hint).

Enjoy your stamping - back soon.

Hugs,  Pat

Bunco Prize boxes

                                                       Valentine prize Boxes

I am the hostess for our Bunco group in February.  I felt pretty lucky to draw that month since it is before Valentine's Day which gave me a great theme to follow.  Plus.... and this is huge.... it's dark when they get here at 6:00 so I don't have to wash my windows!!! Woohoo. Told ya it was huge.  These little prizes were so easy to create and I think they're pretty cute.

I used the Tag a Bag gift boxes and decorated the acetate sleeve that goes around them.  Filled with a little bottle of shower splash, some See's candy hearts and we're good to go. Our group gives money for prizes but most hostesses give the money out in a little container of some sort.  Thanks to Stampin' Up! this was super easy and fun to do. The teeny boxes are for the non-winners and contain a couple of candies but no moolah - only six win money!  I'll have more on how to make the little boxes in my next post.

I put a strip of designer paper down the front of the acetate sleeve and began decorating from there.  I layered my label from the chalk talk dies, Label Love stamp set and Artisan Label punch, a Round Array  stamp set which was punched out with the 7/8 scallop round punch, and the sparkly heart.  All topped off with a bow from the bow die which was in the Holiday mini. I am almost certain it will be offered again in June when the new annual catalog comes out.  If not, keep checking the clearance rack - new things pop up there frequently.  I think it was wildly popular so I hope it is offered again.

Items used in this project...

Tag a Bag gift boxes
Artisan Label punch
7/8 scallop circle punch
Label Love Stamp set
Bow die bigZ
A round array stamp set
Hearts a flutter dies
retired so saffron and soft sky dsp

Thanks for dropping in and have a great weekend!!!

Hugs,
Pat
