Color Throwdown Snowman Peeps

Hi Friends

Today I made this card for the Color Throwdown.  The challenge this week is to use a pale or lime green, blue, kraft and grey.  I immediately thought of flowers ... no!!  No more flowers until springtime.  I'm really in the mood for Fall/Christmas and the colors and decorations that are associated with those seasons... pretty much done with the heat in SoCal.  You can click here to see what others have done.



I love the colors barbara chose and decided to go with a Penny Black snow family stamp ... I think her snowmen are the cutest around.  I also dug out some retired SU Christmas dsp ... it's so "retired" I don't even have the packaging anymore so can't tell you the name of it.  I only have a wee bit left.  Well, here's my card...

Of course, you knew my assistant, Bailey, would have to join in the fun, right?  Of course!  There's nothing particularly complicated about this card.  The only thing I did, other than coloring with my copics, was to paper piece their scarves.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Warm Words (also retired).  I kept the layout simple (my new goal) and just added a bit of silver ribbon and a silver glimmer snowflake for some sparkle.  I hope you like it.

Merry Monday Christmas Bingo

Hi Friends

Today I'd like to share a little Christmas card with you.  This is for the Merry Monday challenge which this week is a bingo board.  See other samples here.   I chose the first column vertically ... Sparkle/Die cut/Red. 



I really like these bingo board challenges as there is so much variety it makes it fun to choose.

Here is my card...

After die cutting the ornament shape and scoring some embossed lines I used a scrap piece of whisper white and wrapped the red ribbon around it diagonally.  I also added some pearls and a piece of red glimmer paper and secured it behind the die cut with adhesive.  Easy Peasy.  Here is a detailed picture of the ornament peeking through.

A clean and simple card.  Love that!

Gail's Stair Stepper card

Hi Stampers

Today I just have to share this wonderful card that my buddy, Gail Reed, made.  It's for our crazy card club, the September challenge, and I just love it.  She is so creative.  I don't have the template for how to cut & fold, but I'm sure if I asked her she would provide it.  Let me know if you'd like to have instructions.

I won't jabber on and on... just enjoy looking at each and every square ... so much fun detail!

and yes, it does fit into an envelope but not standard A2.  When flattened (eek!) it measures 4 1/2 X 6.  

Each little individual square is 1 1/2 with the dsp cut at 1 1/4

Isn't it just too cute???

Pastel Flower Patch

Hi Stampers...

Sorry I've been AWOL for a while ... been busy deep cleaning the house now that the painting job is done and the windows are just freshly washed ... guess I could see the grunge better =) ... and also trying to stay cool while we were in the midst of the most recent heat wave (ugh).  Those are not compatible, let me tell you.  

So, let's make a card.  It will last longer and be more fun.  I visited one of my favorite challenges this morning (the Color Throwdown) and Wanda Cullen has chosen all my favorite colors ... pistachio pudding, crisp cantaloupe, and coastal cabana... how could I not play???  I immediately thought of my new Flower Patch set with matching framelits from Stampin' Up so that's what I went with.  I also needed a sketch as a taking off point so I went to see what Julee Tilman (Mojo Monday) had created this week.  Loved the sketch so here it all is....

I ended up making two cards since I had some spare parts when this one was done... I added another flower and leaf to the upper right.  Now I'm not sure which I like better ... ?

Bailey's 3rd Birthday

We've chosen this birthday for him ... Sept 13th.  It's probably within a two week error guesstimate as to his actual birth date.  We adopted him from Animal Friends of the Valley in Wildomar, CA on March 20 of 2012 and were told he was approximately 6 months old at that time.

He is absolutely the dearest little thing to ever join our family.  Oooops... did I say little?  He's a robust 20# now....  but I don't think he's "fat".  Our vet just rolls his eyes at me :-).

This is what I looked like when mommy and daddy found me... this picture was taken at AFV the day my life changed furever.

I goes where I wants and I duz what I wants.... except outside.  I don't even want to go out there and mommy won't let me anyway.  But I goes in cabinets, dishwashers, under beds and chairs, and I sleeps in the shower on my special blanket.

 I am pretty "technie" for a kitteh.  Mom says I am super smart ... she knows....!
