Pastel Valentine
I've been making my Valentine cards the last few days. I send them to my two daughters and 5 grands and have made them early this year to share with my upline Gail Reed for SAS this coming Saturday. I can't wait to play with the goodies she has from the Spring Catalog.
This card uses lots of new product from the Spring mini ... if you need one, please drop me an email and I'll get one out to you asap! It's full of wonderful goodies.
For today's card I used the new Tea for Two dsp which is yummy. I used my Hearts a Flutter (again!) ... can you tell I love it's versatility? I love the ribbon too... it is in Marina Mist to match the background cardstock. The hearts are done in both marina mist and primrose petals with a band of crumb cake to set off the ribbon. I felt the card needed a little something else, but in the end I chose to leave it be - I like the soft look.
Hope you have a great day and please feel free to join my site with Google+ ... the link is at the bottom. Thanks for stopping by...

Oh Happy Day Valentine
Hi Stampers
Todays card is all about using scraps (from Christmas, as it turns out) to make our happy little Valentine cards. I shamelessly cased this card from a wonderful sample by Heidi Boos. Thanks, fellow stamper, for the inspiration. It so happened I had all the ingredients ready in my scrap box - love that.
I started out with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card using crumb cake. Using my (now retired) large background stamp 'dots' with Versamark clear, the rest was just simple placement of my scraps. The glittered scallop border is not SU but the polka dots are SU's designer series paper and the hearts are cut out using the 'Hearts a Flutter' framelets in real red and pretty in pink. I used a sentiment from 'Bloomin' Marvelous' - available FREE during sale-a-bration. A little 'gem' from the Basic Jewels pack adds just a little bling. This was a fun card to make - practical too - and I hope you enjoyed it.
I have another Valentine to share with you tomorrow so check back!
Have a super day...

Bailey and Ripley's kittens
Happy Sunday - What's cuter than a room full of Kittens?
So do you have an answer? It's kind of a trick question. NOTHING is cuter than a room full of kittens ... in my humble opinion.
I love this site! Bailey loves this site! Thousands of people from every corner of the world love this site. It is sponsored by Purrfect Pals and they take in strays, in this case Ripley. Turns out she was preggers and had 5 kittens. Foster dad, John, cares for them until adoption time. If you browse facebook at all, you may have seen references to other litters ... anyway it's really neat.
We go visit Ripley's kittens almost every day... I must share this picture of Bailey watching the little guys. It's funny to watch because he really can't figure out where the heck they are. He searches behind the monitor, to the sides, all over - poor little boy - he can't figure it out! Not to mention there are a couple that look a lot like him!

Thanks for the visit... be back as soon as I make some samples for next weekend's SAS at my friend Gail's house.

Bordering on Romance
Happy Saturday stamping friends...
Today I have a card to share that uses tons of embossing folders... I seem to have gotten carried away with this one. I like all the textures though.
The base of the card is certainly celery (a favorite), with pink pirouette and whisper white. I used my nestabilities labels 9 for the center area and then used the Stampin' Up! designer frames embosslet - punched out the middle with my large oval punch - and affixed the small flowers in place. I also used the adorning accents embossing folder to give a separation between the colors. Basically, I "emptied" out all my folders and dies and used them all - LOL - not really, but this is a bit of overkill. The stamp set is SU's Bordering on Romance which I colored with Copics and then cut out the larger flowers and added a couple of medium sized pearls to the frame. I hope you enjoy the card.
I'm leaving now to work on my bows... hehe... this one looked fine IRL but I think it looks pretty sad in the picture. I seem to have a tendency to undertie (is that even a word?), since I try to keep my cards mail friendly... this one needs tightening... and fluffing :-)
Have a great day and I'll see you soon. Don't forget to leave a few words so I'll know someone's been here - snif*
Hugs,
Pat

Hearts a Flutter and Papillons
Good morning from sunny soCal
Finally I am able to say that. We have had temps well below normal for about the last month but I'm happy to say our weather the last couple of days has been beautiful.
Today's card is from the Spring Catalog - the Hearts-a-Flutter bundle... with a little assist from Papillon Popourri. I'm a sucker for any set that has it's matching framelets and this new catalog has lots of them... uh oh.
Instead of using a lot of hearts, I chose butterflies. I saw a card similar to this by Brenda Keenan and decided to case it with a little variation. Thanks, Brenda for the lovely design. All of the products used are from Stampin' Up! The blues are all marina mist (however, they don't appear that way in the picture) and the red is SU's real red. After stamping all the images I used the matching framelets to cut out the banners and fussy cut the butterflies. I think there's a punch that matches ... more for my wish list. I finished the card with some basic pearls and the new marina mist scalloped ribbon. I hope you enjoy the card.
Thanks for stopping by and have a super day!

New Year ... New Blog ...
For the second time in less than 2 years, my computer caught a fatal virus. The first time I had a friend wipe the C drive and reinstall XP even though the processor was pretty slow and the computer (at that time) was over 5 years old... a dinosaur in computer-eze. Well, the day before Christmas it happened to me again (on that same computer) and this time, while totally disgusted, I made the decision to just go out and get a new computer rather than go to all the work of reinstalling all my apps to that very old one. And, yes, I was using antivirus software but I really can't recommend it after viruses got through on two occasions. I was using Microsoft Security Essentials but will have Kaspersky on the new one (which should be here today!). Sometimes 'free' is not the best. Here are the furbabies that help me with my stamping... perhaps 'help' is not the right word?
I have also joined the Stampin' Up! family and am a new demonstrator so I thought I'd begin a new blog to incorporate my new interests. Wish me luck... sometimes 'blogger' baffles me! I'm going to try to export/import some of my old blog posts to this new one but I'm not very optimistic. There are only a few worth the time so I may just copy and paste what I can. I'm sure it will all be "hunky dorey" when it's all set up... sigh... lots of work for me!!!
I'll be back ... you come back too?
