Thanksgiving poem

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.

BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.

MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,

and, mostly ...
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!

                                                   ENJOY YOUR DAY...
                                     HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Give Thanks

Hi Everyone

Are you all ready for Thanksgiving?

Here is another card I wanted to share.  I love the flip cards, but I really like to extend it out to give it a little more substance... and that is what has been done here.  It's pretty simple really, just place the extended part of the cs over the die so as not to cut that part. You can always just run it part way through your Big Shot as well.

Here is a circle flip card that uses last years' Sweater Weather dsp - it remains one of my very favorites.

and here is it opened up...

This one will be going with me to Thanksgiving dinner at our daughter's house in San Diego where the temperature is supposed to be in the low 80's.   We'll probably spend most of the day out on the deck.  I'll try to get a few pictures to share with you on Friday.

Thanks for stopping by ... come back tomorrow for a cute poem!

Hi Friends

I hope you're having fun getting ready for your Thanksgiving celebration.  I love the sentiment on this card as it refers to the harvest feast concept.  It is actually a tag card which I'm thinking could be fun as a place card at the table too.  Well, too late this year, but maybe next year I'll make a few of these to place on the table ... I like the basic design idea.

I hope you'll try this card ... I think you'll enjoy creating it.

Thanks for stopping by

So Thankful

Hi Stampers

Today I'd like to share a couple of pretty Thanksgiving cards that celebrate the changing seasons when summer brights turn to deeper hues and harvest golds ... even the sky becomes a crisper, deeper blue. These cards seem to fit that mood.

I love this time of year although here in soCal we don't really get massive leaf color, there are some trees that give us that show ... the liquid amber (aka sweetgum) provides lots of color and grows well here.

Come back tomorrow when I will have a darling flip card to share.

Why not ham?

Hi friends

I'm almost embarrassed to come on here and have to say 'sorry for my absence' but here we go again. I've just been swamped with Christmas preparations since we are having house guests the beginning of December and then our kids from Indianapolis arrive just a week or so later.  It just seemed prudent to get the show on the road (so to speak) since the days just fly by.  But, fair warning, my blogging may be somewhat hit and miss in the next month as time does get away from me.

Meanwhile, poor little Thanksgiving!  It has just sort of gone unnoticed with all the early Christmas plans for December... sorry Turkey Day ... I do love you!!!

For the next several days I'll be posting cards appropriate for the Thanksgiving week... here are a couple that "honor" the turkey... they seem to have "attitude", don't you think?

The little turkey was stamped on whisper white and then colored with markers.  The sentiment "why not try HAM this year" was computer generated.  Just a bit of whimsy to start off Thanksgiving week.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back next week for a few more Thanksgiving/Grateful cards.

Christmas Birthday #3

Hi Friends

I hope you're enjoying this weeks' postings.  I had a lot of fun making these and want to invite you to c.a.s.e. (copy and share everything) ... as many as you'd like.  Many of them were inspired by cards I've seen on Pinterest.  One thing I especially enjoy about this hobby is the generosity with which the designers share their ideas... and I want to do the same.  It's funny how I'll decide to (pretty much) copy a card with just maybe a color change or so and it comes out looking completely different from it's model.  Anyway, enjoy!!!  I really think this black and white theme is my favorite!

See you tomorrow for the 4th and final set!

Christmas Birthday set #2

Hi there

Well, did you enjoy yesterday's blog with all the cards?  Remember, if you have any questions as to how this or that was done, don't hesitate to ask.  As it is these blogs are pretty long and if I were to describe each card we'd be here until next year *wink*.

Ok, marching forward ... here is set #2 ... first the holder

and now the cards ...

but ...

you didn't think I did all this work by myself, did you?  Oh no, I always have a helper... right close!!  Gosh you're cute, Bailey!

We were hard at work but here are the finished cards

Ok... time for Bailey's nap so we'll say bye bye until tomorrow when we'll present another set.

Stay tuned ... and thanks for the visit!

Christmas Birthday set #1

Hi Everyone

I hope you enjoyed yesterday's tutorial on how to make the card holder box.  Today I'm going to share the cards that (sort of) coordinate with the Sweet Sorbet box.

I must say that most of these I made last week but some were also from my SAS's and some from our Crazy Card Club.  I knew that making 4 boxes and 40 cards all "fresh" was going to be too much, so I did incorporate some from my stash ... while trying to keep the palette intact.  Yes, this week I'll be showing all 4 sets ... I hope you'll love them all.

Please leave comments ... especially if you have any questions as to which sets went on which cards or if you'd like more information on any of the techniques used on these cards.  Or you may email me at 2felinefurbabies@gmail.com and I will reply immediately.  More tomorrow... stay tuned!!!
