Anniversary wishes

                                                     Anniversary Wishes

We have friends who are celebrating a wedding anniversary next week so today I made them a card.  It's fairly formal which means it could also be suitable for a just married or bridal card.  I usually prefer a more cutesy card, but certain occasions call for a particular decorum, ahem!, don't you agree?  Anyway, this card uses several Stampin' Up! products which are currently available.  I'll provide a list at the end of this post.

Using whisper white and the Adorning Accents Edgelits, I cut a bit off the front - saved it for another day.  Then I ran the front of the card through the Big Shot using the Stripes embossing folder.  I would have used the Delicate Designs embossing border if I'd had it - that would have been perfect - but I chose another Cuttlebug edge folder instead and ran that through.  The ribbon is the 5/8" white organza (my all time favorite) and I just adhered it with glue dots.  I heat embossed the 'love' stamp from a retired set and punched it out with the large oval punch.  All of the flourishes are Spellbinders.

Products...
whisper white card stock
gold embossing powder
'love' from wonderful words (retired - sniff)
white organza ribbon
stripes embossing folder
adorning accents edgelit die

If you've come looking for the 'yellow bow' project, come back Monday - camera issues today caused a postponement :-).

Have a happy weekend!!!  See you Monday?

Hugs,  Pat

Organizers

                                                          My New Organizers

Wow.  I am so happy with my new ink pad organizer and my punch holder.  My friend's husband made these for me and they are so nice.  A long time ago I think I posted a picture of my craft room and it showed my artist's easel.  Of course I can't find it.  I may have deleted that post.  Well, whatever, it's not that important but, basically, I removed the back of the easel which left a big area of wall.  What to do?  You know I'd have to fill it with something.  Jerry to the rescue.  He made these wonderful units for storing stamps pads, markers and punches.

As you can see, the ink pads snuggle into their slots and there is a cubby for the matching pen.  The way he notched each slot makes it super easy to take a pad from the unit.  I even have some space available for new stuff... love that!  Once we'd measured the space, I asked him to make the shelf too and it has come in so handy for favorite cards and projects.  Tomorrow I'll be talking about those little yellow bows and what that's all about - so stayed tuned :-).

Here's a close up of the units.  I am so happy, happy, happy with these.  I even have space above the punches for my refills.  Reminds me, I need to get many more of them.

Thanks for stopping by - I'll be back tomorrow with my yellow bow project.

Hugs.... Pat

SAB Preview

                                             Sale a bration preview continues

Stampin Up Petal Parade, card by Sandi @ www.stampingwithsandi.com

Isn't this a pretty card by Sandi MacIver?  She has used the Petal Parade stamp set and the Sweet Sorbet designer series paper to create this.

Bronwyn has used the Decorative Dots embossing folder to create this whimsical background texture and the Banner Punch with the Banner Blast stamp set.  She has also used some Sweet Sorbet dsp to set off the banner - so cute!

Banner Blast Valentine

Here's another example of the darling banners you can make with the stamp set and punch.  That little punch can be used as a border, a banner (natch), and even the rays of a sun... plus probably a bunch of other ideas too.

PETAL PARADE BIRTHDAY 1 - Paula Dobson (New Zealand)

Here we have Petal Parade stamp set - it is so lovely - especially using the current In Colors (which I love).

A Friendly Petal Parade Hello by cmstamps - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

I really like the way she has used the arrows from Petal Parade to create interest in the background as well as her use of the florals.  The paper strips are from Sweet Sorbet - quite a nice variety of paper in that pack.  Remember, these are all samples of FREE stuff - not "stuff" really, since they are all made with Stampin' Ups excellent quality.  You may choose wood or clear for the stamp sets.

I'll have more samples on Tuesday - the day Sale a Bration begins!!

Enjoy your stamping!!!

SAB preview part 1

Sale-a-bration goes live in 4 days!

Yep, next Tuesday January 28 starts the sale-a-bration event.  For every $50 you spend in EITHER the annual catalog (big book) or the new Celebrate the Everyday Occasions mini, or even the clearance rack,  you can get an item from the sale-a-bration catalog for FREE. That's right, FREE.  In the next few posts, I am going to present samples which all use the sale-a-bration items.  Let's get started.

Lee Ann Greff used the envelope punch board to create this cute little envelope card - and used several of the Sale a bration products too.

Envelope card closed

Envelope card SAB

She cut a piece of the new Sweet Sorbet Sale a Bration designer paper measuring 5 1/4" square.  Then using the Envelope Punch Board position it at 2 1/2" - punch and score. Do this on all 4 sides.

The inside stamped layer is 3" and she used the Sweet Sorbet twine, the Banner Blast stamp set, and coordinating Banner punch.  The greeting is from Yippee Skippee.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This next sample is by Cindy Elam who also used the Sweet Sorbet dsp and the free stamp You're Lovely. Both are sale a bration products.

Check back tomorrow for more samples using both the sale a bration catalog and the new Occasions catalog.

Have a great day - keep warm and cozy if you're reading this from the eastern half of the country - Brrr

See you tomorrow :-)

Washi Tape

                                                       WISHI WASHI

When Stampin' Up came out with a line of Washi Tape I, of course, had to have some.  I didn't know what it was, but still had to have it.  Then at Convention last July they gave us some more.  I had decided I would use it to embellish my cards but when I tried that I wasn't happy with the results - somehow, it was too "see through". I tried putting it on the back of those decorative bags and wasn't thrilled with that look either.I have about 8 different patterns and there it sits, alone and lonely, on a rack in the craft closet.  I look at it - kind of like a monkey pondering a math puzzle - and close the closet.  So, Pinterest to the rescue.  I can spend more time 'browsing' and pinning... wow.  Anyway, here's what I've decided to do today - for you - and for me!  It's ALL ABOUT WASHI.... drum roll, please....

What is Washi Tape?

Washi paper tape was developed by a Japanese masking tape company back in 2006 in response to demand from local artists. It is strong, thin, and less sticky than regular tape, and colorful and artistic, which makes it ideal for all sorts of crafting.
USES FOR WASHI - OTHER THAN 'the obvious' card trims

As long as they don't overlap, I love the mix and match with colors & patterns

Makes these files look very spiffy

If these were all different, it would be a means of finding one's glass - at least for a while *wry smile*

easy storage for your washi - better than alone in a dark closet :-)

I think those utensils are really cute

try this on some of those dollar store vases to pep them up!

cute

Coordinate your party theme.

These are just popsicle sticks and the flowers cut out of images from Webster's Pages - how cute!!!

You'd better know your keyboard - oh, wait, the letters are on there!

I like this idea too - especially for those envelopes that just don't want to lick closed properly.  Stick it down with decorative washi.... yay.

And, last but not least, the award for the "Patience of a Saint" goes to this entry :-)

I hope you've enjoyed some of these ideas and found a few you hadn't already thought of...

See you soon and thanks for stopping by....

Smitten Valentine Elephant

                                                         Smitten with you

Hi there stampers!

Today I'd like to share an early Valentine.  I made this little creation (well, 15 of them, actually) for our Crazy Card Club.  Our theme for the month was vintage/romantic Valentine!  Well, try as I might, my brain kept returning to this cute elephant by Our Craft Lounge.  His name is Dr. Peanut and, with the exception of the little hearts, he is intended to be on a get well card.  Point is, I missed the vintage/romantic mark by a mile but I sure had fun creating this card and coloring the elephant with my Copics.

I stamped him with a permanent black (Memento tuxedo black) since the Copic markers are alcohol based.and will smear with a non permanent ink.  For this card I dug out some old dsp by We R Memory Keepers called 'love struck'.  Seemed appropriate, right?  The little daisy flower is from a die cut by My Favorite Things and I cut two for each flower.  A simple white doily sets the background.  A simple card - and quite mailer friendly - hope you like him.

Thanks a lot for taking a look and I'll be back with others soon.

Pat

Petite Petals Punch

Petite Petals meets watercolor

To continue last Friday's post, here are some gorgeous samples of cards made using the watercolor wonder designer series paper and the new petite petals punch - wow, try saying that 3 times fast - hee.  Patty Bennett used the watercolor wonder dsp, the petite petals punch, and the pre-made watercolor note cards (found on p.22 of the Occasions catalog) to create these gorgeous cards.  She punched the flowers from the watercolor paper - how fun and easy.  Using any of the flourish stamps that I'm sure you have, and the notecards that are already watercolored, a few candy dots, and you have this!!!!  How divine.

I love the way the flowers are shaded by punching right out of the center of the flower.  Consider making these using the watercolor palate and the petite petals stamp set.

Fun, quick, easy with beautiful results.  Perfect combination, don't you think?
