Celebrate the Cupcake

                                                          Celebrate the Cupcakes

Hi Stamping Friends

Today's card is for the Friday Mashup using the sketch by Avery.  You can check out the challenge here. The challenge... create a project using the sketch

Or.... create a project using "an assortment of different pattern papers" or... Mash it Up! and create a project with the "Sketch using different pattern papers".  As a side note, it was mentioned to try this by using up some of our retired Stampin' Up paper since the dsp is all new.  I thought that was a great idea since I have a ton of retired papers now.

I decided to use some of my favorite dsp (polka dot parade) which is just recently retired (*sniff*),  I must say this card barely put a dent in it.  I punched out my 8 little cupcakes and decided to also emboss the tops with my swirl embossing folder in the big shot... trying to make it look more like frosting.  Then, using my new little 4 petal flower from the new Itty Bitty punch pack and some colored rhinestones, I dolled up my cupcakes a bit. The sentiment is from Verve's 'Cupcake Affair' and the punch I used is Stampin' Up's cupcake builder punch. The black and white ribbon is from Michael's.

The card does not seem as 'bright' in person.  I even took more pictures but, I guess, it is just a bright happy little card.   =^..^=    I hope you've enjoyed this weeks' eclectic array of designs and techniques.  Have a great rest of the weekend and I'll see you soon.  As always, thanks for stopping by and viewing my little blog.

  2. Pat, I love your take on the sketch! I am so happy to see that you thought outside of the box and used Cupcakes as the squares on the card. Your card is super cute! The embossing on the top of the cupcakes is the perfect touch!
