A Fun Sunny Day

Hey there everyone.

I hope you are having a sunny day! The sun has finally come out here in Southern Cal... don't know why we're having such a cool July, but I'm loving it. We had a pretty good shake, rattle and roll yesterday afternoon... they called it a "moderate earthquake" at 5.4 but I was hanging on to my desk (*grin*). The card I've made today for MOJO146 is all about summer. I made it for our grandson's birthday... I'm sure he'll 'relate'.

This card uses my new favorite stamp set from Verve called Relax.  I love it... there are so many fun elements in the set.  This card basically involves coloring and cutting/pasting.  I stamped off several surfboards, waves, palm trees and a few sunshines and colored them with my Copics.  Then I cut them out and started arranging the placement.  I used another favorite... Garden Variety by Cosmo Cricket for my paper and matched my coloring to it.  I really enjoyed making this little vignette using Julee's sketch.  It doesn't show up very well in the picture but while the white paper was still in the oval nestie, I sponged so saffron around the edges...it shows IRL.  I used some cork for the dunes and a little piece of mesh for rest the boards against.  I used twine for an accent 'ribbon'... the card is on a kraft base.  I hope you enjoy it and have a great day!

Wishing you fun in the sun...
Patty

  2. Fantastic card, love how you cut the images outside of the oval circle and the corkboard is my favorite way to "make" sand! Great job!
